Moving Along
Quonnie Acres (part duex) is almost complete. Horses,dogs, cats and I should be moving in shortly. I will post in progress photos and lessons learned in the near future.

Equestrian and Aviation Lifestyle
I grew up in Quonochontaug, Rhode Island, aka "Quonnie" for short. I have been obsessed with horses since age four. I started riding at age nine and have competed in multiple disciplines. I have trained with quite a few nationally and internationally known coaches and currently ride dressage with a focus on biomechanics. My other passion is aviation. I worked for Spy in the Sky Aviation in Warwick, Rhode Island after college. That inspired me to join the Navy, where I was commissioned from Aviation Officer Candidate School in April 1993. I was winged in October 1994 and flew the SH-60B out of HSL-44 in Mayport, Florida. After that, I was assigned to VT-2 at NAS Whiting Field, flying for over eighteen years as a Primary Flight Instructor in an active and reserve capacity in the T-34C and T-6B. In my civilian life, I have taught primary flight simulator instruction at both NAS Pensacola and Whiting Field since 2004 in the T-6A and B models. Additionally, I have been in a management role at both sites during platform transitions.
How Can I Help?
I find my experience as a Naval Aviator and an Equestrian complement each other in unexpected ways. The focus and attention to detail as a pilot plus the empathy and ability to set the ego aside required to bond with the horse have allowed amazing results in my personal endeavors. For those who are open to the idea, the possibilities are endless.
